What equipment does my child need?

Every player must have rollerblades, knee/shin pads, elbow pads, hockey gloves, a helmet with a facemask, and a mouthpiece.  All players must wear pants (roller hockey pants or sweat pants) that cover their legs and pads.  Boys must also have a cup.  Optional equipment is hockey shorts (girdle), chest pad, shoulder pads.  We have a shed full of "hand me down" equipment that we encourage everyone to try to use before buying gear.

Do we have to be at every game and practice?

No.  As a truly recreational league, we do not pressure the kids about missing practices or games.  Many of our players also play in other sports or participate in other activities and we want this to be a relaxed and casual environment.
